I am retired and also frugal with my limited income. Fancy rods, reels and most other equipment.
Frankly I have in the past, what I consider a lot of income on these things. I have been disappointed to many times. So for years I have used Schooly reels on home made rods. Simplicity and function have not disappointed. A few ICE fishing seasons ago I found these Mr Crappie reels. Form and function have been a step up from my beloved Schooly reels. I have put these Mr Crappie Thunder Jigging reels on my " cane " poles also adding another dimension to this variety of fishing. Quality is wonderful, manageable drag keeps those bigger fish from breaking off. These reels come with 6lb yellow mono, great on my cane poles. I do prefer a 1 to 3lb on my ICE reels so I do swap out the line on some reels. Just mentioned it as it is in my experience and a very minor nuance. I currently have ten in use.
